Here is the article from Newstodaynet.com.

A set of 40 Life Packages consisting of a fibre boat fitted with motor, fishing net and other essentials were distributed to the fishermen of Pudupattinam and Oyyalikuppam near Kalpakkam affected by the 26 December tsunami. The packages were given by 'Save The Family', a tsunami relief programme, dedicated to rebuilding the lives of the affected in the long-term.

The programme was jointly sponsored by International Management Group East (IMGE) Emergency Relief Fund and HOPE Foundation at a function at Kalpakkam yesterday.
After presenting the Life Packages, Andrew J Krieger, founder, IMGE Emergency Relief Fund, said, 'It is so fulfilling to see a community that was so devastated now on its way to total recovery.' Promising long-term packages, he said the next set of 60 Life Packages would be delivered in the coming weeks. He thanked the government and people for making the programme a success.

Mark Templer, CEO, Hope Foundation, pointed out that the other works undertaken by Save The Family in the villages include cleaning of rubble-strewn beaches and establishment of a health clinic and an upgraded local school programme for providing uniforms, books and supplies.

Ramesh, a fishermen, who received a boat, said that around 400 fishermen families living in the two villages had lost their livelihood to the tsunami. He added that this package would relieve him and other fishermen from the mental anguish due to a delay of a clear rehabilitation package.
