IGCAR employees have served a strike notice. Here is the list of demands.
CAUSE FOR FORCED ACTION - NON FULFILLMENT of TSUNAMI AFFECTED ASPIRATIONS
1. Establish a tsunami early warning centre in all DAE Installations and the Township situated on the sea shore.
2. Immediate Interim Relief in kind and financial assistance to the affected employees at once based on third party assessment.
3. Extend the Interim Relief sanctioned by the DAE to all deceased without any categorisation of fully dependent under Medical Attendant Rules.
4. All efforts should be made to provide alternate quarters.
5. Press additional duty buses from Chennai, Pondicherry and Kancheepuram on Permanent basis in order to ease the quarters problem.
6. Quarters constructed within the high tide zone should be scrapped and the quarters completing more than 25 years should be demolished.
7. Equal number of affected quarters should be constructed at Anupuram Township.
8. Immediate steps to enhance the HRA on par with Chennai
9. School and Hospital should be shifted from the seashore to inland of Township.
10. Metrological warning Centre should be established
11. DAE should constitute a centralised DAE Relief Fund for the affected employees of Kalpakkam and also provide relief to the nearby villages.
12. Professional Tax exemption to all the Atomic Energy Employees.
13. Declaring Income Tax Holiday for the Tsunami affected Atomic Energy Employees.
14. Additional road connectivity between Pudupattinam and Sadras, Kancheepuram District, Tamil Nadu should be established on war footing as the only bridge connectivity collapsed of Tsunami attack.
15. Multi-laning of the road from Plant Site to Anupuram be given priority as it is the only emergency exit route
16. A command centre with all communication gadgetries having technical personnel, medical personnel should be established and the same should function round the clock shift basis.
